Understanding EMDR Therapy: The Connection Between Symptoms, Triggers & Trauma Memory Networks

Free Webinar - Coming Soon

The EMDR Readiness Course: Powerful First Steps to Heal & Transform Your Life Story
10 Module Webinar

The idea that ANY therapy could literally change the way a trauma memory is stored in the brain is an extraordinary claim. That is what research shows EMDR therapy can do. It changes current symptoms and deactivates sensitivity to triggers by transforming the trauma memories that drive them.

This course uses visual imagery to explain the theory behind EMDR therapy and how EMDR memory reprocessing works. It equips you with an introduction to what is needed for memory reprocessing to be safe and effective. It also explains three strategies for choosing which memories to target, in order to create the changes you most want to experience.

Student Testimonials

Conceptualizing the AIP and Maladaptive storage through the tree image and its representation of various aspects of identifying stored trauma is so beneficial. The visual facilitates a greater understanding of key concepts that otherwise can be difficult to explain.

Susie Morgan is an amazing trainer with a profound EMDR acumen. Thank you.

EMDR therapy is a powerful way to heal single incident PTSD. However, it is much more complicated to treat Complex Trauma – which is when you have experienced tough stuff throughout life since way back at the beginning.

This doesn’t always just mean the things that happened to you – it can also involve your basic needs for nurture, protection, and stability not being met.

With close to 20 years experience as an EMDR therapist, Susie Morgan, LMFT created The EMDR Readiness Course because she saw a need for more people to know that this powerful treatment is available – and to help them understand what is necessary to make it safe and effective when there is a history of Complex Trauma. It is a self-help process you can take at your own pace.

The first Module explains the basics of all of this. Susie made it available for only $20 because she wanted anyone who had experienced Complex Trauma to be able to have access to this information.

The Course is, in a word, Amazing. Susie Morgan's command of the subject is thorough and well presented.

For years I have struggled with alcoholism stemming from issues I could not identify. This course helped me identify the source of my issues and, more importantly, identify a path to heal and grow from them.

I strongly recommend this course for anyone interested in healing past trauma through a safe and effective process. For me, it opened the door to further EMDR therapy, a phenomenal technique. I wish I had been introduced to EMDR therapy decades ago.

~ SJ - Course Participant
I highly recommend this course!

Through Susie's gentle and thoughtful videos, I received empathic skills and savvy tools to address the ways trauma had negatively impacted me. In the videos Susie invites participants to document their journey through drawing and writing their experiences.  Drawing and writing about experiences of pain as well as victory was incredibly empowering. The change that came from practicing these exercises is amazing!

These videos in conjunction with my own personal therapy helped me identify and move through traumatic memories that I would never have been able to face alone. I am so much more free in talking about my life and responding to my own and other people's limitations. I am so thankful I found this resource.
~ MK - Course Participant

Spending time to prepare for EMDR therapy can greatly streamline the process.  There are a series of short videos that explain how EMDR works, and resources are provided to bump up the level of readiness. The presentation is at once warm and welcoming, science informed, and pristinely clear.

I highly recommend Susie Morgan’s Course. It can reduce anxiety regarding EMDR therapy, allow clients to help clarify the process and to take foundational steps so that they can get the most out of their EMDR therapy.

A client once told me, “I keep referring people to EMDR therapy, but they aren’t getting what I’m getting with you!”  The content of this course represents much of what I have identified is that difference.  I crystallized the most powerful components of the work I do with clients to prepare them for trauma memory reprocessing – all which have independent value even if someone never goes further with EMDR therapy.  These exercises are what I have learned from the very best of the best in the field and have synthesized with my own years of clinical experience into a method that I have seen facilitate remarkable benefit for my clients.

The price for the full course is $67.  The exercises included in the course comprise what is often the first 3-4 months or more of work that I do with a client.  As I typically work in 2-hour sessions at over $200 per clinical hour, you can see from the math that the cost can range into the thousands of dollars for someone.  This course provides an economical way for me to act as your guide as you to take yourself through those same steps.

Is there a discount for Military or First Responders for the course?

Yes! As a small way of saying thank you for your service and sacrifice, a 25% off discount is always available to all former and active-duty military service members, first responders and their spouses. Enter discount code WARRIOR at checkout.
